See and Learn More Word Pictures is the third step in the See and Learn Language and Reading program - a series of activities specially developed to help children who have Down syndrome learn to talk and to read. The program provides instructions, materials and checklists to help families effectively support their child's early language development.
See and Learn teaching programs offer step-by-step guidance and materials to support early learning activities designed for children with Down syndrome and other children with similar learning needs. Developed by Down Syndrome Education USA and Down Syndrome Education International, the See and Learn programs offer practical, targeted and evidence-based approaches to promote the development of language, reading, speech, memory and number skills.
See and Learn More Word Pictures uses visually-based matching, selecting and naming activities to help children learn 55 new words that are common in early vocabularies.
See and Learn More Word Pictures is designed for children who have already completed See and Learn First Word Pictures.It is designed to be used at the same time as See and Learn First Written Words.
The See and Learn More Word Pictures kit contains: • a guide book including detailed instructions for each of the three activities in this step • record sheets to track progress through the activities • picture cards and matching boards to use in the activities.
